With four mustangs born in the wild and their dog Charlie, Sonja Endlweber and Günter Wamser ride through the west of the USA. After a 15-year crossing of the continent from Patagonia to Alaska, it is the grand finale of the "Adventure Riders", with the aim of bringing their horses home. You'll ride through the Grand Canyon, encounter grizzlies, rattlesnakes, and wild horses, and visit the loneliest ranch in Nevada.

In search of freedom and independence, her mustangs are not only riding and pack horses, but also best friends and loyal companions. That's why it makes sense for Günter Wamser and Sonja Endlweber to bring them home at the end of their years-long journey. On the 5000 km long way home, they ride along famous trails from Montana to Texas, including the Pacific Crest Trail, the American Discovery Trail and the Arizona Trail. Wild animals, forest fire areas, scorching heat, thousands of fallen trees, old snowfields and the search for suitable campsites create challenges every day. They are rewarded with scenic highlights such as the Grand Canyon and the Sonoran Desert and their gigantic cacti, but also with the overwhelming hospitality and helpfulness of the people, who often live in complete solitude and yet are happy. The two are sometimes dirty and their bones hurt, then again infinitely happy, grateful and humble.

At the end of the trip, the adventure riders fulfill their greatest wish: Across the Atlantic to Europe with the four mustangs and dog Charlie.
