A special climate prevails in the Alpine City.
Chur is regarded as one of the warmest cities in Switzerland. Thanks to the frequent presence of the föhn (a warm, dry, downward wind) and its protected position amidst high mountains, Chur often enjoys a very mild, pleasant climate. It is only foggy on 6 or 7 days a year. Nevertheless, in winter, temperatures often drop to zero degrees, opening up a multitude of possibilities to enjoy a broad range of winter sports in the close vicinity.
