Until spring 2025, there are restrictions regarding the access to the Obere Au ice sports training stadium due to the construction of the field sports stadium. Further information.

Ice and grass sports enthusiasts enjoy a modern infrastructure with state-of-the-art equipment. The ice rink has an ice field that can be converted from the European ice field size (60m x 30m) to the North American ice field size (60m x 26m). The sports infrastructure also includes 25 changing rooms for ice and field sports, an athletics room (226m2), a gymnastics room (65m2), a sprint track (50m) and a first-aid room. The event facilities include the grandstand (276 seats) and two meeting rooms (50m2 each). Changing rooms for users of the jogging track and the skate park as well as a public toilet and shower facility are accessible from the outside. With this infrastructure, the ice sports training stadium is a state-of-the-art addition to the old ice sports stadium. The new ice sports training stadion is open all year for public ice skating, patch ice and training sessions.

Public ice skating
Please buy the entry ticket in advance online, at the ticket machine on site (cashless) or at the front desk of the indoor pool.

Please note: Ice skate rental available only at Quader outdoor ice rink. Please bring your own ice skates when you visit the Obere Au ice sports training stadium.

This is how it works

  • Select the desired ticket with or without ChurCard and the corresponding age group
  • Buy online with credit/debit card or Twint
  • Receive ticket with QR code by e-mail
  • Validate the QR code at the reader by the door to the ice rink
  • The ice skating can begin!

Tickets are valid on the date of purchase. Purchased tickets cannot be cancelled.

Tickets for public ice skating are also available via the ticket machine (cashless only) on site at the ice rink and at the front desk at the indoor pool.

Here you will find the occupancy schedule for the training ice rink. Please kindly place your reservation via reservatinensoau@chur.ch. Please also notify us of any changes by e-mail. Changes or cancellations up to 48 hours (working days) in advance are free of charge. Weather-related changes on the part of the clubs are free of charge up to 12 hours (working days) before the training/game.

  • Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri: 8am - 4.15pm
  • Wednesday: 8am - 1.45pm
  • Sat & Sun: 11am - 4.15pm
  • Families with small children: Saturday/Sunday, 8am - 4.15pm - 1/3 of the ice rink is reserved for families, regardless of the sport on the rest of the ice rink.
  • Exceptions: 25.-27.10.2024: no public ice skating (event), Wednesday, 11.12.2024: until 12:45 pm and 27.-29.12.2024: no public ice skating (event)

Public ice hockey

  • Sat & Sun: 8 - 10.45am
  • Families with small children: Saturday/Sunday, 8am - 4.15pm - 1/3 of the ice rink is reserved for families, regardless of the sport on the rest of the ice rink.
  • Exceptions: 25.-27.10.2024: no public ice hockey (event), 27.-29.12.2024: no public ice hockey (event)

Ice skate rental

  • No ice skate rental on site. For groups on request only (at least 1 week in advance)
