Book launch with Philipp Gurt

A mysterious and no less disturbing murder of a 29-year-old woman in Chur is not only shaking Graubünden. The victim was draped on a park bench at the edge of the forest as if he were still alive, a strange object stuck in his mouth. Giulia de Medici, the experienced chief investigator of the Graubünden cantonal police, takes over the case. At her side, as always, is Nadia Caminada, her best friend and a renowned profiler. Together they take up the investigation and come across a gruesome parallel: In the summer of 1983, during the notorious Emmental Bloody Summer, one of the three young women killed was staged in exactly the same way. Could the same murderer have been at work, or are they dealing with a copycat? While Giulia and Nadia are desperately searching for clues and connections between the two cases, the picturesque Lake Cresta, shining in autumnal colors, becomes the scene of another crime.

Philipp Gurt was born in 1968 as the seventh of eight children of a poor mountain farming family in Graubünden and grew up in various children's homes. Gurt wrote short stories as a teenager, followed by his first novel at the age of twenty. He has always had an intimate relationship with nature, which was also to shape his highly atmospheric writing. His connection to the canton of Graubünden, where he still lives today as a freelance writer, can be felt in each of his novels.
