JazzChur: Elia Aregger Trio

With their new collection, the Elia Aregger Trio presents fat fabric and not lingerie. Modern jazz meets a concentrated load of improvisation and a willingness to take risks. The guitarist from Uri acts as bandleader for the first time and gathers two no less freedom-loving comrades-in-arms around him with the Bernese double bass player Marius Sommer and the drummer Alessandro Alarcon from Ticino.

This pairing on thin ice looks like a lively cabinet of figures from Fargo, doom appears in the Largo. You can hear sinister crackling footsteps of an armada, blood spatter like Möhl on canvas, the punk stands in the shooting range.

Always towards the horizon, serving the atmosphere, the trio constantly pushes their own compositions forward and creates a world of floating, psychedelic moods.
