Description
The route starts in Lüen, also known as the "Schanfigger Riviera" and leads through the village towards Forsch. Where the transfer station of the Lüen hydroelectric power station (Arosa Energie) is located. From there the trail winds down through the forest to the power station. The trail continues over the Plessur through the forest. Shortly before Praden, the hiking trail leads along a meadow up to the mountain village. Praden is about 400 m above the course of the river (Plessur).
Geheimtipp
Arosa Energie invites energy enthusiasts to a highly exciting look behind the scenes of the Schanfigg power supply. After a varied train ride through the wild and romantic Schanfigg, the train stops in Lüen-Forsch. Then it's downhill on the 330-metre-long works cable car to the Lüen hydroelectric power station, built in 1914. On a guided tour of the plant, you can marvel at the old and new technology of hydroelectric power generation.
The guided tours are conducted in the months of July - October.
A visit to the picturesque Praden church, which is a listed monument of the canton of Graubünden and houses what is probably the oldest church organ in the canton.
